About

Be it through the media of animation or through the written word, I have been a storyteller as far back as I can remember.

I grew up in Staffordshire, England, in a time when children still had the freedom to ramble and explore far from home – with no electronics to distract us, and only our imagination and favorite TV shows to inspire our play. Drawing was a passion, and creating cartoon stories in school text books was a close second. By the time I was thirteen I had decided I wanted to work for Steven Spielberg, and fifteen years later, that dream became reality.

After studying graphic design, photography and animation at college, I was an artist in the animation industry for twenty years, working in London and Los Angeles on such projects as ‘Space Jam,’ ‘Anastasia,’ ‘Prince of Egypt,’ ‘Spirit,’ and ‘Enchanted,’ as well as numerous commercials.

A friend’s request for me to join her writing circle brought my almost abandoned story ideas and early chapters out of the filing cabinet, and I have been a writer of children’s fiction ever since. I live in Montrose, California with my husband Nathaniel, our son Elliott, and a Heinz 57 variety terrier named Lucas. You can also find me online on Instagram and Facebook.
